LOCATION Mercers Creek House is located 15km from St John’s (about 25 minutes’ drive to the centre) and 16km (approx. 25 minutes’ drive) from VC Bird International Airport. Private luxury return airport transfers can be arranged with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of flight number, arrival times and luggage details for a cost of US$100 (for 1-4 passengers) or US$200 (for 5-8 passengers). The closest beach is Long Bay Beach, 1.6km away. Set in the sweeping 26 acres estate of Mercers Creek the former sugar Buff House is the last remaining stone plantation house on the island containing many of its original features. MAIN HOUSE These four suites look out over the gardens and have many of the original features including the original four poster beds, all with fitted en-suites. - The Royal Suite: With large, fitted wardrobes and many original antique furnishings, The Royal Suite encapsulates all that is quality – including a large ceiling chandelier. A mahogany four-poster bed stands centre stage in the bedroom, wrapped in a fine lace mosquito net. The en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in shower. - The French Suite: Taking its name from the French wrought iron four-poster double bed with fine lace netting. This suite has a balcony overlooking the Chinese Garden. The room also contains an antique bookcase and fitted wardrobes. The en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in shower. - The Pineapple Suite: This room comprises of two single four-poster beds with antique large mahogany wardrobes and direct access into the Chinese Garden. The private bathroom, with a walk-in shower, has slated windows also overlooking the Chinese garden. - The Dukes Suite: The largest suite at The Great House, with a King-size mahogany four-poster bed, The Dukes Suite is fitted with original furnishings, including antique mahogany large wardrobes. The Dukes Suite has a private bathroom and walk-up shower. THE GARDEN SUITES Nestled within the tropical gardens, our two semi-detached traditional island cottages provide four Garden Suites. Each in vibrant Caribbean hues, traditional Antiguan pyramid roofs with vaulted ceilings, crisp linens, granite and porcelain accents and private terraces. Designed with guest privacy and natural opulence in mind, the air-conditioned island cottages provide guests with views over Mercers Creek. En-suite bathrooms include double rainfall showers.

"We spent an excellent 8 nights at the Great House, Antigua in January 2019. Set within a former sugar plantation in quiet and tranquil grounds, it is a special place to visit if you are looking to completely relax and detox, or get fit through optional boot camp and yoga sessions. You wake up to birdsong after a comfortable night's rest in a cool, spacious bedroom and can take a dip in good-sized clean pool within the well-maintained, spacious grounds surrounded by luscious tropical vegetation. It is close to lovely beaches in Long Bay and Half Moon Bay, both only a short drive away. The food is good and we greatly enjoyed the delicious local coffee served at breakfast by the friendly staff. They helped us with whatever we needed.
